Hey, I'm Stephanie. Welcome to my photography blog. :) So, a little bit about me. I am originally from California, although I haven't lived there in a very long time. With a husband who's been in the Air Force and working through medical school, I've been a lot of different places and met a lot of wonderful people. But no matter where we've lived and how many times we've made a new life for ourselves, it's been the memories I've been able to capture through photographs along the way that have been constant and lasting.
After "retiring" from teaching elementary school when I had our first son, I decided to finally pursue an interest that I'd never managed to make time for. That was when taking photographs really became an art to me. I took classes and then put what I learned to practical use as we were stationed overseas with the Air Force and I had our second son. Far away from everything we knew, I was able to photograph my babies and send those on to our family back in the States who were missing us so despritely. That was seven years ago.
Now living in the Toledo area and with three little boys, taking photographs is a daily occurrance and continues to be a growing passion of mine. There's nothing like catching that belly laugh, those dimpley hands, that sweet embrace, that mischievous grin or unplanned expression. And sometimes, it's also just plain fun to get our "model on" and show our stuff. Taking photographs teaches us to really, really look at ourselves and those we love, quirks and all, and love who we see. Maybe take ourselves a little less seriously, too. We will never be quite the same as we are right this moment. Remember this moment. I love what the author of Peter Pan James M. Barrie said. "God gave us memory so that we might have roses in december."
